Post by dspaedt »

Hello all,

I got out and completed my first-ever SOTA activation and then . . . did another! CW and QRP were applied :).

Nice write-up, and good job making a double-activation in the cold!

When I discovered four new parks had been added to my state's POTA roster, I went to visit them one day -- in the midst of a cold snap (temp's in the teens) with a foot of snow on the ground. Turned out none of the Wildlife Management Areas get plowed! My passenger car wasn't going to navigate them, but fortunately the POTA "activation zone" is usually adjacent to a proper (plowed) road.

Where I live also doesn't have a lot of exciting SOTA options. But I hope to investigate a few more this year. Thanks for the encouragement!
